CV, C-Rank, Stockpile: Tycoon Online Jargon Made Simple

Cartoon Tycoon Online character looks confused in an office surrounded by Company Value, C-Rank, and stockpile displays, with the text “CV? C-Rank? Stockpile?”
Tycoon Online’s jargon becomes easier once you know which number, ranking, or fund each term describes.

You can understand the idea of running a company and still get lost in the vocabulary. CV, C-rank, S-rank, stockpile: the names appear before you have much reason to know the difference.

Here is a short Tycoon Online glossary of terms to make the first few visits easier to follow.

CV and C-rank

Cartoon Tycoon Online character stands between a Company Value and C-Rank display and a shares dashboard showing Stock Points and S-Rank, under the text “Two Rankings. Two Measures.”
C-Rank compares company value, while S-Rank tracks performance in the shares system through stock points.

CV means company value. It is the value used to compare companies in the company ranking. Treat it as separate from the cash you can spend: a higher CV doesn't mean the same amount is sitting in your savings.

C-rank is your position in that company ranking. Other companies are moving too, so your position can change even while your own company develops.

S-rank and stock points

S-rank is the stock ranking. It uses stock points, which can come from eligible share-sale gains and dividends. C-rank and S-rank therefore measure different parts of your play.

You may focus on one while learning, but recognising the two names helps you understand why a conversation about shares uses a different leaderboard.

Warehouse stock and stockpile

Cartoon character compares warehouse shelves filled with boxes and an area labelled Stockpile, under the text “Warehouse Stock and Stockpile.”
Warehouse stock consists of physical goods, while the stockpile is the fund used to pay dividends.

Warehouse stock means the physical goods your company is holding. Depending on the goods, they may be production inputs or products you intend to sell.

The stockpile belongs to the share system. It is the fund used to pay dividends. A warehouse full of goods and a healthy stockpile describe two different things, despite the similar names.

Speciality and production points

Your speciality is the branch of goods your company chooses. Factories producing goods in that branch receive a production bonus.

Production points accumulate as you work toward factory output. They build up every 10 minutes and convert into goods on the hour. This explains why a working factory does not produce a new visible unit after every small update.

Inputs, outputs, and a production chain

Cartoon overview of a production chain with a raw-material warehouse, inputs factory, finished-goods area, forklifts, and the text “Follow the Production Chain.”
A production chain works when each factory receives the inputs it needs and passes its outputs to the next stage.

Inputs are goods a factory consumes; outputs are what it makes. Raw-material factories extract goods without buying supplies. A production chain links stages so one stage's output becomes another's input.

When someone recommends a chain, follow it from the first required material to the final product. Knowing the building names is only part of understanding what keeps the chain running.
