The First Two Factories Are Different

Rex watches two factories being built quickly while construction workers and cranes move around the site.
The first two factories feel fast because they get a special construction advantage, but the third factory returns to the normal pace.

At the beginning of a new round, I expected everything to move slowly.

I bought the zones.

I chose my first factory.

I assigned employees to construct it.

Then I checked again.

The building was almost finished.

My second factory was fast too.

I thought I had finally understood how construction worked.

Then I started my third factory.

This time, the progress looked completely different.

I Thought My Employees Were the Problem

The third factory seemed to take forever.

I checked the employees.

They were assigned correctly.

They were still generating construction points.

Nothing had stopped.

But compared with my first two factories, the progress felt extremely slow.

At first, I thought I had hired weaker employees.

Maybe their production points were too low.

Maybe I had missed something when assigning them.

But the employees were not the main reason.

The first two factories had received a special advantage.

The First Two Need Far Fewer Construction Points

Rex points to two factory examples showing that the first factories require only 1% of the normal construction points.
The first two factories in Tycoon Online need only 1% of the normal construction points, which makes the early round feel much faster.

According to the Tycoon Online Wiki, the first two factories a company builds require only 1% of the normal construction points.

For example, a factory that normally requires 12,000 construction points would need only 120 points when built as one of the company’s first two factories.

That explained why they appeared so quickly.

The third factory was not unusually slow.

It simply needed the normal number of construction points.

I had been comparing normal construction with a special round-start advantage.

It Is About Factories, Not My First Two Buildings

Rex stands between two unrelated factories while holding a supply-chain plan with a broken connection.
A factory that finishes quickly can still create problems if it doesn't connect to the company’s supply chain.

The advantage applies to the first two factories I build.

That detail is important.

It does not mean that every type of building receives the same fast construction.

It also does not mean the first two factories are automatically the best choices.

They still need to fit the company I want to create.

A factory can finish quickly and still become a problem if I have no plan for its products.

I may produce goods that I cannot process.

I may build a second factory that does not connect to the first.

Or I may choose a factory that depends on supplies I cannot reliably find.

Fast construction helps.

But it does not fix a weak plan.

I Had Used My Advantage Without Thinking

During my first rounds, I chose factories based mainly on what looked affordable.

I wanted production to begin as soon as possible.

I did not think much about what would happen after the goods entered my warehouse.

Would I sell them?

Would another factory need them?

Would I build a shop later?

Could the market support the missing parts of the chain?

By the time I started asking those questions, both fast factories were already built.

The advantage had not been wasted completely.

The factories still produced useful goods.

But I could have used those first two choices more carefully.

Now I Plan the First Two Together

Rex holds a production chain blueprint showing the first, second, and third factories in a planned Tycoon Online factory chain.
The first two factories can give a company a fast start, but they work better when you plan both as part of the same production direction.

Before beginning another round, I try to decide on both factories.

The first one may produce a raw material.

The second may support the same product plan or begin the next part of the chain.

They do not always need to connect directly.

But they should both have a purpose.

I also think about what will happen when I reach the third factory.

That building will need the normal construction points.

So I may need stronger employees.

I may need more time.

And I may need enough stock or cash to keep the company moving while I wait.

The Third Factory Is the Real Test

The first two factories can make the beginning feel easy.

Production starts quickly.

Goods begin entering the warehouse.

The company suddenly feels active.

But the third factory changes the pace.

That is when I need to understand the basics of construction.

It is also when my early choices begin to matter.

Do my first factories provide useful goods?

Can they support the next building?

Is my company earning enough while construction continues?

The first two factories gave me a fast start.

The third factory showed me whether I had actually created a plan.

Now I do not choose those first buildings only because they can be finished quickly.

I choose them because once that special advantage is gone, I want the company they created to keep moving.
