What Do Staff Actually Do?

I thought they were just a cost. Then I realised they make buildings work.

At First, I Only Saw the Cost
When I first hired staff in Tycoon Online, I mostly noticed one thing:
They cost money.
That was my beginner brain.
I had just registered my company, cash already felt tight, and then the game wanted me to hire people, too?
At first, staff felt like another expense I had to survive.
Staff Make Buildings Work

After checking the Wiki and watching how buildings work, I understood why staff matter so much.
Staff are not just decoration.
They are not just names on a page.
They are part of how buildings actually operate.
A building is not useful just because I own it.
A building needs people doing the work.
Different Buildings Need Different Points

Depending on where they work, staff help generate different kinds of points.
In factories, they help generate production points.
In shops, they help generate sales points.
In offices, they help generate service points.
In buildings under construction, they help generate construction points.
That one idea made everything clearer.
Factories need staff to produce.
Shops need staff to sell.
Offices need staff to provide services.
Construction needs staff to finish the building.
Why Hiring Is Part of Planning

Suddenly, staff stopped being seen as a random cost.
They became part of the engine.
And that changed how I planned.
Before, I would think:
Can I afford this building?
Now I try to think:
Can I afford this building and the staff it needs?
That is a very different question.
Because if I build too quickly but cannot cover the staff costs, I may create a bigger problem for myself.
This is why I think staff are one of the most important beginner features to understand.
They are connected to almost everything.
Production.
Selling.
Services.
Construction.
Cash flow.
My Beginner Lesson
The biggest beginner lesson for me:
Staff are not extra.
They are the people making the company move.
Once I understood that, I stopped seeing them as only an expense.
Beginner takeaway:
Staff are not just an expense. They generate the points that help buildings produce, sell, provide services, or finish construction.
